The city of Manaus, located in the northern part of Brazil, is the capital of Amazonas State, the largest state of Brazil. It is located near the confluence of Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes, which is also popularly known as the Amazon River. Manaus is the hub and the chief port of the widespread river system of this region.
